Finally heard something back from Tesco. They haven't got a perment job for me yet but they want me to come back in for another 13 week contract starting tonight. Hopefully this time it really will lead to a full time job.I can but hope anyway.
It's typical really as I'd just gone to the job centre to sort out an interview about going back on the dole and to the banki to try and sort out my loan payments. *sigh* Now I'll have to cancel the interview and re-contact the bank again oh well I'd rather have a job then not so it all worked out well in the end.

Woohoo! Working is always better than being on the dole...wish you luck on getting a permanent position with them. If not, 13 weeks is a nice long time to look for another job!

Um... I'm not exactly sure what the dole is, but having a job, even if only for 13 weeks, is better than not having a job. I hope a permanent position comes your way!

You can say that again I can't believe that some people prefer the dole to actullly working it's such a pain in the ass to go down to job centre every two weeks to sign on.
Hopefully this time it will be perment but as you said if not I've got the time to look for a better job.

The dole is bascally a set amount of money that the govenment pays to people that aren't working so that they can buy food and other important stuff. It's why we pay National Isurance so that if you loose your job you still get money for stuff you need to live. It's usally about £100 every two weeks.
A job is always better in my eyes as it means I can afford to buy stuff that I want like books and video games that I wouldn't be able to get on the dole.

At least where you are it is possible to live on the dole...here in the US, the system is just asinine. I have a friend who broke his legs on the job and could not work for many months. The social services people told him that he needs to sell the second car before he can get any help. The "second car" is his work truck, with his tool boxes, equipment and stuff permanently attached to the back. It is a 2 seater. He has 3 kids. So...either get rid of the family car, or get rid of his livelihood? And before anybody starts in on public transportation, we are talking about the USA here. Unless you are in the middle of downtown in a big city, there is NO public transportation. Ughhhh.

He ended up getting some food stamps and the rest of the bills are being met by family, friends and the church. So much for Social Security. I hate the messed up welfare system here. Sorry about the rant...

And it is not like we don't pay a tax to support that stuff either...a chunk of every paycheck goes to pay for it. It just seems like we really do not get much value for our tax money here!

It's seems that way here as well most of the time but at least our welfare system works even if some people abuse it.
