Apr. 4th, 2005 12:11 amWell my boyfriend treated me to a trip to the cinema yesterday so we went and saw Be Cool. At first I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this for one thing I've never seen Get Shorty for which this is a sequal and seconly I've never really been a big fan of John Travolta, but I have to say this was one damn funny movie.
It also had some great music, which helps in a film about a nobody becoming a hit singer after all, but what you ask makes this film really great. The answer is one man and that man is The Rock.:D
In the film he plays a gay bodyguard who wants to get into acting and I have to say it's one of the funnist things i've seen all year. I had tears in my eyes every time he was on screen. I have new found respect for The Rock after watching this movie, gotta love a person who's willing to take the piss out of themselves as much as he does in this film.
On a side note I also watched the remake of The Toolbox Murders which is about a murderer in an apartment block who you've guessed it uses tools to murder people. It wasn't a bad film and it helped it was directed by Tobe Hooper so it was pretty fast pased and the death scenes were intersting. Though it didn't really have much to do with the original movie it was still a pretty decent slasher pic.
Lasly the other film I had the dubious pleasure of watching was Species 3.*sigh* The things my brother brings home. That said it wasn't as bad as the second film which came as a bit of a surprise really. If it weren't for the fact they tagged on a cheesy happy ending it would have been a better film.
