Resident Evil 4
Feb. 13th, 2005 12:49 pmWell I finally finished playing Resident Evil 4 at about 5:30 this mornimg and I have to say it was an excellent game and the new action feel worked really well. I do have a few annoyances however. The first being that it just wasn't as scary as the other games, that creepy atmosphere was missing due to the more action oriented gameplay which was a shame because nothing really beats a good scare. The other thing was that I found the button mashing parts really annoying and I almost busted the gamecube controller more then once. :(
The other thing that made me sad was the lack of my fav character Weasker, sure he's mentioned more then once as he's the one that sent Ada to the village in the first place but we don't really hear from him at all which is a shame. He does have a speaking part in Ada's assignment though which was a nice touch. I also belive he's an unlockable character in the mercenary missions along with Hunk and a couple of other people.
I have to say I found myself wanted to shot Ashley every once in a while she was really annoying alot of the time (and they gave her a health bar *cries*) I would have much prefered to keep Luis he was much more useful. That said his death was really rather amushing in a sad sort of way.
The chainsaw guys were damn annoying I can't count the times Leon got his head cut of and the regenerator monsters were damn freaky*shudder* not fun as at.
Lastly the final boss in this game was the easiest out of all them though he certinaly one of the biggest I've thought and pretty gross as well.Though you should make sure you have a rocket launcher and the mine gun upgraded with more then 7 mines if possable other wise it might be alot more diffecult.
Now to play through it again, I just hopeing the infinity rocket I unlocked won't cost to much (yeah right) not sure what the other gun was I unlocked but it should be pretty good.
Apart from that it's an excellent game that i'd recommened to all action and Resident Evil fans. Have to pick it up when they release it on the PS2 just to see what they add (hopefully some Wesker moments;) ) as they did with Code Veronica X.
