Anime Meme Day One

Very first anime
The first anime I ever saw was the movie Akira. I fell in love with the art and way of storytelling almost from the get go. Alas trying to find anime in the UK in 1991 was no easy task as the only stuff available was badly dubbed films from Manga Entertainment. There were a few OVA's show on TV but that was really late at night and no TV shows at all. It wasn't until 1998 and Pokemon that anime really took of over here.
Akira is still one of my favourite anime movies, it's such a beautiful and creepy film and you can't help feel sorry for Tetsuo even when he's being an ass and I still want Kaneda's bike as it's awesome. The ending always makes me cringe though it's just not very nice at all.
