Star Wars Episode 3 :)
May. 19th, 2005 10:23 pmWell we went to see Star Wars episode 3 today and all I can say is wow. I wasn't really expecting that much as the other two weren't really that good but this one certainly more then made up for it:)
The first thing I have to say is Obi Wan is a right sadistic git, not only does he chop of both Anakin's legs and his other arm he then stands there and watches him catch on fire and then leaves he him to burn slowly to death. This to a person he's just told he loves like a brother. I'd hate to see what he'd do to someone he really doesn't like.
That said on the rest of the film, the main battles were great though I have to say some of the main bad guys seemed to get themselves killed a little too easily espically Count Dooku after he gave them so much trouble in the last movie but that didn't really distract from the coolness of the movie.
Mace Windu's death scene was a little sucky espically as it was a major turning point in the plot but oh well never mind.
The two main battles at the end of the movie were Yoda vs Palpatine and Anakin vs Obi Wan and both were done really well. The Yoda/Palpatine battle was a real show of force powers and it was a really interesting fight. Of course the really powerful battle as the Anakin/Obi Wan fight on and around the molten lava fields. Even though everyone knows the outcome of this battle it still had some really nerve racking moments when you weren't really sure how things were going to turn out.
The romantic scenes between Padma and Anakin were nicely done and didn't seem as forced as in the last movie though I still don't like Hayden Christensen's acting that much and everytime he said 'master' I wanted to strangle him he sounded so bored but I guess you can't expect everything.
All in all it's an excellent movie and I'd recommened it to everyone even if you didn't really like the first two films.:)
