The husband brought me a new camera as a surprise and it is all kinds of awesome. It's got a x26 zoom so I was able to get some awesome pics of some of the animals and birds that vist the garden.

There have been rumours flying round town that there are otters in the local river and yesterday they turned out to be true as we spotted one playing about in the river as we headed over to the parents to feed the cats. I mangered to get a photo here under the cut:photo here )
It's not the best as it was done with my phone. I'm hoping that when the husband seens me the photos he took they are in better condition. Going to take my camera today and see if we can spot her again.

Well that was a bit of excitment.
A Peregrine falcon

try to take out a jackdaw

in the backyard.
He failed though as a Magpie

came to the rescue.

This might be one of the most adorable things I've ever seen.

So we put a hanging bag of peanuts out for the birds a couple of days ago and some of the smaller birds have been coming to eat from it. This morning I was sitting at the computer when I noticed a Magpie sitting on the fence looking at it.

After a few minites he lent down and knocked the bag onto the floor splitting the bag and spilling peanuts all over the floor. He then flew down and begain to help himself to some peanuts.*sigh* The birds round here are too smart for there own good I swear.

Here's a video I took of some(what I think are) Ravens messing around in my back garden. The one with slightly white wing feathers in an adult and the other one is his/her offspring. There are two chicks but only one of them where in the garden at the time. I'm sorry about the music I hadn't realized I'd left winamp playing when I was filming.

And here are a couple of the best photos:

If you want to see more they can be found at my photobuket page here:

Thought I'd post up some of the photos I've taken of the local wildlife. I've put them under the cut as there are a lot of them.

pictures under here )

If anyone wants to use these photos for anything I'd be happy to upload larger versions of them.

Have been watching Life the last couple of days and I'm amazed at the amount of detail that the HD cameras they use actully pick up. I know it does help that we're watching the blueray version but seeing everydetail on the wings of a butterfly etc is amazing. What wasn't so amazing was seeing a hi-def view up one of the camaramens noses while they were doing their making of segment at the end of one of the episodes, there are somethings you just don't want to see.

This is prehaps one of the best things I've seen in a long time. A live feed of a mother leopard and her two cubs. They are so cute it's unbeliveable. :)

Fluffy

Just found out Dad had to have one of the cats put down this morning as he was having great diffculy breathing as was barly eating. Fluffy was the oldest of the cats and he would have been 14 this year so he had a good long life but even when I last saw him just after christmas I could tell he wasn't going to last much longer as he was already beginning to lose weight and was breathing funny.

I can still remember getting him as kitten as he was the first cat I actully got to choose and he used to sleep in my room and wake me up at 6am everyday so I wouldn't be late for college. He was a hugh ball of fluff back then hence the name.:) He was a big softy and he'll be missed. I just hope the other two monsters don't get to down missing their partner in crime.

Had a wonderful day at the zoo yesterday. It was a beautiful sunny day which helped and thankfully hardly any of the animals were hiding away and there were also lots of baby animals which is pretty cool.
Pictures can be found here if you're interested:

On a side note I got 4 books and some cash for my birthday. I've still got a few other presents to come but as far as I know they are both going to be games.

Saw my first ever live mole today. It was being pestered by a cat but luckily it hadn't been hurt from what I could see and was able to gtet back underground by itself. The mole was a lot smaller then I though it was going to be but it was really cute.

Here are the photos I took of the Thomas Paine celebrations we held in our town a couple of weeks ago:

Thomas Paine was born here in Thetford so they really did a lot of stuff alas I missed most of the stuff that was done on the Saturday and just got the battle reinactments.

Here are some pics of the local wildlife mainly ducks and geese with their babies as well as some fishes and a jackdaw we've named White Stripe:

There was a petting zoo at one of the pubs near were we live today so we thought we'd go down and check it out. It was really cool and we got to handle some of the lizards. There are pics under the cut:

On a plus note I now don't have to pay out £50 for an exercise bike as on the way down to the zoo we came across a yard sale where they were selling an excerise bike and a rowing machine for £10 each so we brought both of them.
